One new tool is the special diagnostic included in Surviving the Brave New World of Food Retailing, the newest study from the Coca-Cola Retailing Research Council of North America. The diagnostic allows teams to discuss 21 specific challenges and consider how important each issue is and how much work a specific company needs in those areas. The answers can be illuminating.
In cooperation with SmartBrief, the Council recently hosted a webinar about the study and the diagnostic. At three points in the webinar, the approximately 200 participants were asked to score their companies on questions from the diagnostic. The answers revealed considerable recognition that a lot of work remains to be done.
