2016 CCRRC Global Retail Summit Report: Leadership and the Future of Retail

In August 2016, members from each of the six Coca‑Cola Retailing Research Councils gathered in Rio de Janeiro with other global leaders to discuss key issues facing and shaping the retail industry. The resulting report from the Global Retail Summit, “Leadership and the Future of Retail,” aggregates the latest research and trends shared during the Summit presentations.
In the Foreword of this report, Muhtar Kent issues a challenge to retail leaders, compelling them to “grow and prosper with leadership that seizes the new opportunities and overcomes the challenges of our time.” This collection of thought leadership essays examines the changing landscape of consumer demographics and shopper behavior, technology and the retail industry. Considering the ever-increasing rate of changing trends and perceptions in our highly digital world, this report examines what it takes to be an effective leader in the industry.
